So this happened guys and I'm so glad about it! This one had been high up on my list because I knew a Dragshow is filled with good humor and just stands for an awesome evening with some good songs, dances, and shows. The idea came from a colleague so I was immensely grateful for her having the idea and energy to get this thing rolling. Some might think 'going to a drag show with colleagues, that's a bit awkward no?'. Let me tell you, there was nothing awkward about the whole evening. The company was the best I could have wished for to experience this with. It was as if just being there created some kind of 'no taboo' vibe and we just laughed and giggled over the strangest things making it like it was a close group of friends on a night out. If one of you guys is reading this. I love you, but remember, what happens at Mask'ara, stays at Mask'ara XD.

So we went to Mask'ara like I just mentioned. It's an ambiance restaurant in Borsbeek, near Antwerp. When you enter the building you arrive in a small pub kind of setting, only with a little bit extra. The roof and bar were decorated with white, rose and red flowers, and the walls were filled with pictures of drag queens and many mirrors. I got excited as soon as we sat down there to wait before we could enter the big room where the spectacle would take place. As we were waiting, the main star of the evening entered in the most colorful suit, her name: lady Zsa Zsa Lamor. I swear the way she can walk in heels, damn. She started going over the guests, taking every group with her and explaining where we could put our coats and where the toilets were but then in her own sassy way. Let me tell you, that woman can roast. As I heard her roast every single person that passed her I just knew this would be an interesting evening.

So after we survived Lady Zsa Zsa telling us how ugly our coats were, we entered the beautiful room you see in the picture above. They had created this over-the-top Victorian ballroom with chandeliers, gold, angels, busts, flowers, and curtains. Wherever you looked, you kept discovering new details during the evening.

They gave you some time to take in the decor during a drink and starter dish. And then.... suddenly... darkness. The theme song of Pirates of the Caribbean started playing and I was hoping for Johnny Depp as a star guest, but then 3 muses entered the stage with lots of show, and the tone for the evening was set, forgetting Johnny Depp altogether. They looked gorgeous, reminding me of the muses from Hercules. There were a total of 4 drag Queens during the show with Lady Zsa Zsa as the leading lady and her Shining Divas. The Shining Divas showed their best in the first act, as seen in the photo on the right and after that, the leading lady entered the stage, fully dressed in feathers and gold. I swear that woman. I need her at work to roast some surgeons. Now that would make my day. You know it's an act but still, she went for it. Calling people names, cursing at them, and ordering them to shut the f*ck up. She was the one running this thing and taking no sh*t. I loved her.

I was a little surprised at how much humor was mixed into the shows. I always thought that Drag shows were filled with iconic songs and Drag Queens in the most sparkling beautiful clothing. Maybe it was a little naïve of me, but I was so pleasantly surprised when they also did acts filled with humor that had me laughing until my jaws started hurting. And when that happens you know you're having a great evening.

I'm not going to post videos of the show here because I want you guys to go yourselves and experience this on your own. Posting videos would ruin the surprise and everyone should experience a night like this. The songs were great as well. There were a lot of singalongs like 'dancing on my own', 'Running up that hill', and 'Part of Your World' from the little mermaid (but with a twist, not talking about spoons or mirrors, but wine and toys.) I was also mesmerized but the outfits and just how they radiated confidence. I wish I could dance like that and wear heels like they are sneakers. They looked great and sometimes I wished I had their legs. Damn girls. They know how to work it.

As you may notice I can keep talking about that evening, it was that good! There is only one thing I want to mention .. actually two things. There was one dish that just deserves its own part in this blog. The Dessert. I mean, look at this creation (photo below). It had everybody laughing. The other thing I want to mention is how Lady Zsa Zsa and her shining divas deserve some much credit. The way they build this show, created the dances, songs, and sketches. How they kept changing costumes like it was changing a coat. I was in awe. So I hope that everyone reading this, will get there asses to this place to support them and have one of the best evenings of their lives.
