So I have to admit I cheated a little bit on this one. I got this tattoo last year, so actually it isn't something I completed after I created my bucket list. The fact I still crossed it off is because I always wanted a tattoo since I was 16 or something. So it actually was the first bucket list item I ever had. For me getting a tattoo symbolized freedom, being in control of yourself and your own body. I also had always said that if I got a tattoo it had to be something with a meaning. So a lot of thought was put into selecting this one.

So this tattoo is of a poppy. First of all is the poppy the birth flower of the month August, my birth month. Aside from that it symbolizes remembrance and a hopeful future. So i thought this was a beautiful meaning. Since there is always a change you'll regret a tattoo I wanted it on a part of my body that was hidden most of the time. On top of that I'm getting a tattoo for me so it only seemed normal to put it on a spot only I can see.

I already had a very small tattoo on my ribs, but since it's so small it doesn't count for me :p This one was on a sensitive part and probably was an challenge for the artist since it's difficult with the breathing and fine lines. After one year I have no regrets of it at all. I'm still happy and in love with the tattoo. The worst about the whole progress was probably telling my parents about it.
